Anyone know if the seat tracks that bolt to the floor can be removed from the rest of the seat assembly?
I bought a salvage power seat and the tracks must be full of grit 'cause when I move the seat there is a lot of grinding noise and gritty feel to the movement. I would like to take the tracks off, flush them clean and relube then reassemble. There seem to be hard stops at each end of travel but I can't identify what or where the stops are.
More info, on closer look, there are stamped protrusions or bumps at each end of the moving part of the seat rail. When the seat reaches the end of travel, the rollers in the track come up against these bumps. I am now thinking I can drill out these bumps at one end, remove the track and clean it. The bumps can be replaced with flat head fastener and a nut on the underside. I'll get a pic up shortly.
