Seatbelt buzzer?

my 02 does not have a seatbelt buzzer/dinger. i think the vsc buzzer may go off if it is more severe slipping but i can't remember

Amen! I'm glad that I don't have to deal with the annoying beep like in newer Toyotas. Just unplug the no seatbelt light indicator and you'll be all good! Also, when the Slipping Car shows up on the dash, it's showing up because of TRAC. VSC (when you're skidding uncontrollably sideways, etc) beeps to tell you it's saving your cajones.

If you unplug the plug under the drivers seat you will not get the light on the dash either.

Just ride with Traction control off, I've been sideways, and i make it straight again by controlling the vehicle.

Yeah, they go with no buzzer on these because the sensor they have for occupant detection isn't very good. It will go off if you have even a few lbs of stuff in the passenger seat. A buzzer would be too much of an annoyance. They have to have high sensitivity on the weight in the passenger seat so that the car can tell if someone puts a baby in the front seat, which is stupid for so many other reasons.
My company makes occupant detection sensors for quite a few OEM's. A while back I was developing a new sensor that can actually distinguish between a human and objects like your backpack or briefcase, regardless of the weight. It was really good, but no one wanted to buy it because it cost just a few dollars more than their old crappy systems. So now we are all stuck with the annoying lights and chimes. I should just grab one of the old samples from work and install it myself, it might be compatible with 4runners even though they weren't designed for toyota.
BTW, you might not want to just unplug the sensor. Some OEM' use that sensor not only for the seatbelt reminder, but for airbag suppression, which could save you big money in a small crash, or prevent the airbag from launching your laptop into your face.

well I usually wear mine, except when im playing with my 4runner down in the river by my house. (there was some giant news story from deep creek recently were a guy crossed it and it was 9 ft deep! he ended up drowning his baby which was hooked into the car seat)
