Ok guys I have a question, and I really dont need any other comments then responses to the question I'm asking..

Is there any way to turn off those blinking seat belt lights (other then buckling up)..

Listen I use my seat belt 99% of the time, but If i dont put it on for a min. I dont need some stupid light blinking in my face. Or if I have an adult passenger in my front seat, I dont need that light blinking either if they chose not to buckle up..

Ok that said, I think i feel two wires (wrapped together) going into the seatbelt receiver.. Any one know if you clip those wires and tie them together would that be like completing the circuit, and tricking the car to thing the seatbelt is in the receiver?? Any thoughts. Thanks

There's a weight sensor in the bottom of the seat cushion that could be theoretically disabled/unlplugged.. although I imagine it may potentially affect the passenger side airbag as well. (ie; it may rely upon the switch to tell the car to deploy the passenger side airbag only if it's occupied... disabling/disconnecting this could result in the passenger being unprotected. Your idea would probably work, tho I'd just test it by running a jumper wire between them rather than cutting any wires -- make it reversible so if you sell/trade the rig, you haven't made it a permanent thing.

You could get a sticker or little plastic no smoking sign (unless you're a smoker) and just cover it up if it's that much of a distraction...

Or you could simply disassemble the dash and disconnect/remove the offending bulb(s)

Personally I liked it... the flashing drove my gf's father nuts (he never wears a seat belt) so he finally relented and buckled up.

Not to be a prick or anything but you do understand that they do save lives....

That said, I think it just means that you gotta buckle up regardless of how lazy you might be. And if any of your passengers are not buckled up, I suggest them to do so...

If you crash and roll and one of your passengers die, it's on ur conscience and not mine...

Thats a good idea about the jumper, I think the seat cusion sensor tells the car that there is a passenger, not sure if there is one on the drivers side. But when the passenger buckles up the light goes off and that has nothing to do with the sensor, if you feel around the base of the seatbelt receiver youll see what I mean about the wires.. I'll have to mess around with them and see what happens..

I know people that have turned that light out. They usually close the electrical circut at the belt, instead of at the dash. I have also heard of clicking in the metal bracket (a spare one) to close the circut. I would not fool with the circut that test the wieght on the belt. A very low tech way is to put tape over the light.

I have meet people who hate seat belts, hey different ideas make the world different.

Ok so I would thing that is there are two wires going into the seat belt reciever, then connecting those wires would most likely complete the circuit.. Thanks

Anybody have a answer for the OP question on how to disable the seat belt warning lights? My mommy will lecture me on the merits of always wearing seat belts so no need to waste your time :

A small piece of black electrial tape placed over the seat belt icon is a lot less work than playing around with the wiring, etc.

under the seat, 2 electrical connectors.. forgot to plug them back in installing my amp.. light didn't come on so just unplug if you want to. Your call though, safety is my concern so it blinking regardless or not doesn't bother me.

i think its easier on the server if a new thread is made instead of bring back an old one. searches are encouraged, but if your question isn't answered in the current thread, and the thread has been dormant for a while, its probably best to make a new thread posting your question with reference to the original thread.

It would have been much better if the original question was answered already instead of some posting off topic comments. If we care so much about the server, simple on topic answers is the way to go. IMHO, of course.
