Second admendment

You can't stop crazy...

On another note, don't you like how people arguing against the second amendment bring up despicable acts and act like nothing would have happened if guns were banned? You can't stop crazy! Crazy will always find a way. Each one of these acts might, might not have been much worse if the person committing these acts used other means. And books. More people have died because of the misuse of books than probably any other tool.

You can't stop crazy, but you can at least try to slow it down. Case in point this thread.

You should be nervous

If you are being 100% honest with yourself in this post, this is what makes the rest of us nervous

Because so many people really do think that way. Just google that shiz. How many memes like, "What is the first thing an intruder sees when he walks in your door..."

I know there are examples in this webboard's EDC forum of people boasting about how they would kill someone who broke into their home. It is a glorification of violence.

Be honest. You know you loved Red Dawn (the original) and wanted to be a partisan, out killing Russians. You or your friends constantly fantasize about being the hero who stops a thug from robbing the local mini mart. You are being dishonest if you deny you or people you know think this way.

Like Winston Churchill said....

Not sure who you're speaking about that worships Guns? I certainly don't. Perhaps that's another feeling you've had and are projecting on others again?

Selling souls? Sacrificing integrity? I merely cherish my rights and my life. My soul and integrity are very much intact.

Here you go with the emotions again. Of course dead children affect me. It's horendous and incredibly saddening. What evil people do to others is awful. What does that have to do with my rights and taking them away? How would/can taking my rights away stop evil people from committing evil acts?

Are you aware of how many people are able to defend their lives and not be raped or murdered because they utilized a firearm as a force multiplier/tool to stop an evil person from victimizing them?

Way more people use firearms as tools for good than for bad. By a LARGE margin.

The Constitution is most certainly not a living document. It is a legal document with the amendment process written in to it on how to legally change it via the legislature (the people).

I think you might not understand what a "living document" means.

What's unfortunate is that you don't understand that a firearm is an inanimate object incapable of being either "bad" or "good". It is simply a tool that can be used for bad or good by malevolent or benevolent human beings.

The countries with the greatest amount of gun control and restrictions still have mass shootings and murders.

If your logic was sound then things like Nice, France wouldn't happen- but they do- regardless of the strictest gun control and the law abiding being disarmed, evil men still obtain firearms, or use bombs or whichever tool they choose to kill people.

If someone had the money and motivation to buy a gunship or a nuke- do you think laws would stop them?

If you have enough money and the will to do so- you can literally buy just about anything you want, including a nuclear device or a gunship.

OMG. You really believe in private ownership of nuclear weapons?!

At least tomorrow when I wake up, I'll be sober, but you will still be you.

Here's a pic

Here's a pic showing how responsible gun owners are in my area. They drew a picture of Hillary clinton, and shot it up, because someone says something bad about Trump. Whoever did this also shot up the rest of the camp, destroying a nice fish cleaning table and deer stand.

And of course left "white flowers" everywhere.

This is not an anomaly. This is how gun nuts think. And I'm still waiting for your reply regarding Operation Jade Helm and FEMA death camps, lol.

So possibly the sign and an anti-Trump message came first and the later comments were added including making the ''happy Face'' into Hillary............you are assuming..and painting with a broad and unsubstantiated brush.:noidea:

LOL...how do you know that's Hillary Clinton and not Hillary Swank or Duff? You should feel safe if that's typical as it appears nobody in your area can shoot. I respect everyone's right to voice their opinion and I hope you're as committed to yours as I am to mine. If you haven't tried out a CZ Scorpion Evo 3 S1, I would highly recommend it...it's like butter!

Looks like the equivalent to the dbag who responds to writing on the bathroom stall, question is: who wrote what first and who bothered to photo? I wish I had the time for any of the activities involved, probably white privilege somewhere to blame

Edit: who shoots up a deer stand? That's just not right

At least tomorrow when I wake up, I'll be sober, but you will still be you.

I think there may be a reading comprehension issue at play here.

Please point out where I advocated for private ownership of nukes in my post.

I think he means that even though it's illegal a determined person with the means will find a way

^Exactly. Same logic I have been positing throughout the entire thread.

If you have enough money and the will to do so, you could absolutely get a nuclear device.

Obviously not a responsible gun owner. Didn't even display marksmanship.

Not sure what axe you have to grind or what point you're trying for here, buddy. Seems it's a very personal and emotional subject for you.

You are painting with a gigantic broad brush. You experience things with people and so everyone has to be exactly that way and fit into that box?

It just doesn't work that way in reality.

I do nothing to deserve losing my freedom, why should the actions of others affect my ability to exercise my rights responsibly?

Be honest?

Honestly, I don’t see myself as a hero at the mini mart. I don’t fantasize about killing people. I don’t fantasize about killing an intruder who breaks into our home, etc. Neither does my wife. These are not our fantasies nor are they the fantasies of people we know and shoot with. The folks we shoot with include young, middle aged, old, ranchers, truckers, prosecutor, current and former cops, teachers, sheet metal, construction, military, housewives, attorney, etc. Interests include lots of plinking, socializing, hunting, collecting, instructing, re-loading, etc. Several of us belong to GOA, VCDL and/or the NRA. Despite our varied backgrounds and interests, we all do believe in an individual’s right as a human being to self-defense and an individual’s right to keep and bear arms for defense.

More to the point. Among many topics, we have discussed face to face and continue to talk about are those individuals who do have killing fantasies, hero fantasies and/or think such fantasies are the norm among firearms owners. Those fantasizing can take something they see on social media, accept it as the truth and turn it into an epidemic. It is definitely not how we think regarding our personal/family safety when at home, in our community or in the wild. It is also not what we have attempted to instill in the hundreds of people who have chosen to shoot with us at one time or another over many years. We do get that life is full of choices and an individual’s choices help determine where that individual gets her/his information, who that individual associates with and that individual’s perception of other people.

I have because it was a permanent stand on public(state land) which is illegal in MN. The person who built it put a lock on the door to the inside so I felt it was necessary to use my 20 gauge on it. I was grouse hunting.

If Cobra Gunships were legal, only the wealthiest people would have them. Do you really want a world where the richest people own all the best weapons? Rule of law, or rule of the gun?

I knew this thread would be a sh*tshow from the word go, but over the last few pages this comment stood out for some reason.

...you realize that we DO live in a world where the richest people own all the best weapons, right? With enough money, private individuals, corporations, despots and dictators can absolutely buy heavy military hardware from the former Soviet bloc, or modern sophisticated weaponry from defense contractors and first world governments. It happens all the time. Hell, you can even buy self-sufficient underground bunkers designed to withstand a nuclear attack, so you could start your own little war and be reasonably safe if you were motivated to do so.

The good news in your scenario is that only legitimate governments can pay to operate all the really big nasty weapons, right? Because they would never use those to kill millions of people in wars of conquest.

Face it, the 'rule of law" IS the rule of the gun. The laws are written by the guy with the biggest stick. Its always been that way and probably always will.

The only positive thing I can say is that at least in this country we are graciously allowed to legally own a little slice of the armament pie, entirely dependent on your economic means. Unfortunately for the decent law abiding masses, illegally you can get pretty much whatever you want, and if you have enough money there realistically is zero distinction between legal and illegal. You can just buy your way out of it.

I ASSumed it was a legal stand - good point. Poaching is wrong on so many levels I think everyone will agree to that

overwhelming majority look just like this. I am not stereotyping; this has been my experience over 35 years of gun ownership.
I don't quite have 35 years of ownership, but I do have 35 years of USE. and I can assure you, YOUR experience does not reflect MINE.

LOL, and the term, "snowflake," was invented to describe liberals....

I'm not ONLY choosing looks. I'm choosing looks in order to get your attention, and yes, I do find that to be the appearance of many I shoot with. Please be honest about some of the gun owners you may know. Who should not have guns, much less children.

I find your elevation of gun rights over everything else to be insulting. Those kids at Sandy Hook had a right to life which overrides your right to guns. I ****ing dare you to look at the pictures of the victims and reply to this post in a way that makes sense.

But as I was working on my truck yesterday, I put into words what really bothers me. And remember, I own over a half dozen guns myself, been shooting around 35 years. And I used to fantasize about killing people. Which is what you're doing.

When you're fantasizing about killing some intruder who breaks into your home, you're fantasizing about killing someone. This probably is not murder if it is justified. But you're still fantasizing about killing someone.

Same thing with this whole, "I need more guns to prevent government tyranny." You are fantasizing about armed revolution against your own government. You want it to happen. How about putting as much energy into trying to change whats wrong using the rule of law instead of threatening the gun barrel?

And that pretty much sums up the attitude of gun "enthusiasts." You get hard fantasizing about killing people, overcompensating for other inadequacies and frustrations in your life.

And to Shooter: ask the police what they think when they pull over a car with over 50 weapons in it.
wow.

im glad to see this guy is gone. he is unstable.
