Second admendment

I'm good with the guy suing.......suppose Wal-Mart says it's their ''store policy'' to only sell alcohol to those over 40........a legal product and a Constitutionally approved product should be Governed by Federal Law not arbitrary store policy IMO.

Or suppose that a Christian bakery doesn't want to bake a cake for a gay couple?

Liberals would be up their ass demanding they shut down their business for their intolerance.

And getting a wedding cake isn't even a Constitutional right.

This country is mentally ill.

So you are saying the government should FORCE stores to sell guns?

They forced them to bake cakes, you don't have a right to have a damn wedding cake.

This ridiculous world is the creation of the SJWs, can't put the retarded genie back into the bottle.

Talk about Reagan on a thread about Reagan. Thread locked.

Rant about wedding cakes and “SJWs” and “snowflakes” on a thread about the 2A. Thread all good.

Just look at it from an age discrimination standpoint. If the law says you can buy a beer at 21, who is Walmart to put their own limit on it while selling to others who meet their ''made-up'' age limit?......discriminitory.

I don't disagree with you... but unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, you're basically agreeing that Dicks or whoever doesn't need to sell an 18yo a rifle. Constitutional right? Sure, but I missed the age of 18 in there. I also don't have a problem with this kid suing, it's his time and money...

The bakery case is a little bit different in a way that will probably be significant in court, the bakers tried to use a first amendment defense. Age discrimination traditionally has the lowest standards in court cases and there is a good chance this would just come down to a rational basis test (which would be much easier than a free speech argument as the store has a rational basis).

Not to open too much of a can of worms, but here's something to think about when talking about the cake baker. Would your views change if they refused to make a cake for a black person because of their race? Or had a separate (and sh*ttier) section for asians? Because that is the same principle. They are not the same thing as refusing someone service due to not wearing a shirt or being too young. In one case you can put on a shirt and walk in, in the other you can wait and get old enough. You cannot simply change your race or sexual orientation (unless maybe you're a college girl).

Race is not sexual orientation. They were not being racist it has nothing to do with racism.

Pains me (ALOT) to say this but I actually agree with you. Pro gay rights, but if a wedding cake bakery (or any business) doesn't want to sell you a cake, for WHATEVER reason, they shouldn't have to. If a store doesn't want to sell guns anymore or has their own policies on how they sell them, that is their right. Just take your business elsewhere if you don't like it. Whats the big deal.

I never said it had to do with racism. I'm saying it's along the same lines. Notice at the end where I say OR. The problem is that there is a lot of people that don't view the two as being similar (race and sexuality). Therein lies the baseline issue.

And again. Substitute race with sexuality. No service to blacks. No problem. They can just go someplace else. Do you see the issue with that line of thinking?

You can bake and decorate wedding cakes out of your house for people just because you like to and refuse to give them to anyone you please for whatever reason. That is your right. But if you decide to open a PUBLIC business, you cannot discriminate for race, sex or sexual orientation. It really confuses me why that is so hard to understand for people.

I do and its a fair/good analogy. Maybe you're right. I just think businesses should for the most part be able to set their own policies, but there is a line that has to be drawn with discrimination.

I understand you I just think it’s dumb, I agree with not discriminating against sex and race tho

Yep. Which is why you can set policies such as no shirt no shoes no service. Because the line has nothing to do with race, sex or sexual orientation. Something that anyone can accommodate as long as they are willing.

And that is most definitely your right to feel that way. But there are plenty of personal feelings you have to leave at home if you decide to enter the public market.
