lets start this off by letting you all know the situation I am facing. I have a 94' 4x4 3.0 with a good motor, trans and 4 wheel drive. but the body is roached from when I was an even younger dumb kid. I just bought a 93 2x4 3.0 with a blown motor. I am planning on swapping the motor, trans and t-case. so I have all of the parts to convert the 93 to a 4x4 but I was wondering if anyone out there knows if there is any frame differences or what not that would make this conversion not worth doing or even if it can be done. thanks for everyones help.

Just for starters, are the ears there to mount the front differential?

There are 3 Mount points, two are welded-on Frame brackets, one is on the Bolt up crossmember.

I think I've seen that most of the steering knuckle, etc. , where the drive shafts must pass through, are interchangeable, if not already the same.

You have the donor and the patient in your driveway, get under there and start looking

i really dont have the tools or man power to swap the bodys out. but i did look at the frame and the 2x4 does not have the frame mounts. but when i looked at my 4x4 it only has 1 frame mount and one crossmember mount. im really not afraid to cut and weld the mount into place on the 4x2. do any of you know if i will have to swap the ecu also. but if i decide to keep it a 4x2 can i use the trans out of the 4x4 with the t-case on it will i be ok to run around with out the rest of the 4x4 shit (cv axel, front drive shaft, front diff.)

Calling Pisa 8687 ! Chris just did this and probably has some great tips to share. Removing the body bolts doesn't take any special tools. Pulling a motor, trans, t/c can be a one-man operation but its so much easier with help. You'd definitely need help lifting the body... Maybe some local T4R members can help..?

I just did a complete body swap with standard tools and an engine hoist. The 2x runner would need the tabs for mounting the front diff welded in. And would be way more work and special tools. I did the swap with just my brother and I. Not difficult at all. If you want some advise or tips or some pics of my swap p/m and we can talk. Thanks Quatre Coureur for the shout out.
