Securikey+ Fob Sensitivity

My 4Runner came with one fob when I bought it and I finally replaced the battery in it. It's programmed and will lock/unlock/panic, but I have to be right beside the 4runner and usually push the buttom a couple times. I've turned the sensitivity setting on the receiver all the way up. For those with the system, are they all this crappy or is there something wrong with mine? I want to get some input before I give up and keep using the key to lock/unlock.

No. When mine did work I could open/close from inside the house 30 yards away. You're lucky its even still working - as you probably know - this isn't a Toyota original part - it was installed by the regional importer (often Gulf states toyota) and they often fail. Sure the battery was fresh as could be? :cowboy:

I believe the sensitivity you are adjusting is for the shock sensor (vibrations and impacts to your vehicle and such). I don't believe that has anything to do with your remote sensitivity. I also have to be very close for my securikey+ to work. It also has a very annoying few second delay until the doors either lock or unlock. I changed the battery and also bought an aftermarket fob off ebay, but I still have the delay and distance issues. I did figure out how to turn the chirp on when arming and disarming, but it honks extremely loud. There is an option in the manual to do a soft chirp but I haven't figured how to set that it.

Lucky you, ha. I did know it was port installed option, but not the fail part. Brand new battery, I hope so!

Ha, of course it is Mine seems to have the same delay. Even though the fob will work, it won't register it when I go through the programming steps. :wtf:
