Seeing an adjuster, questions

I posted yesterday about my wreck, and I'm seeing the adjuster from insurance tomorrow. Here's my post:

so, my questions:

1) Do you think they'll total it? the engine looks fine, but the inner driver side fender (engine bay side of it) might be bent, might not, cant tell without untying the wire holding the hood... The hood is bent, bumper/valence are destroyed, headlight gone, the DS fender smashed, and the crossbar that the hood latches to is bent. The frame looks straight, and the suspension and engine bay and its components look fine.

2) Before I see the adjuster, should I remove my stereo (aftermarket, only a month old) and anything else with value, or will I have time to do that after I see him in the event that they total it?

Take off:
Rear cargo storage cover
Rear cargo cover
All of the caps on the tires
All the space fillers on the dash any aux lights

Throw stock radio in (doesn't need to be hooked up doubt the will "jam" with it)

Hitch

Tow hooks

All of that is free stuff that they will not even notice and you can add it to your new rig or sell it to us.

From what I've seen here lately, it doesn't take a whole lot to total a 3rd Gen. I have also read of people leaving the extras in to increase value, then taking them out before handing the vehicle over.
Don't know if you read my response in your other thread, but I'd look into fighting that ticket, as well as getting the fault taken away from you.
In my experience, the adjuster comes and looks, then they offer. You can accept or ask for more. Once you accept something, take extras out, and use for a future vehicle.

If the airbags did'nt go off then it may not be totaled. If they do total it I would take all the goodies pryor to turning it over to ins company just like Millerad1651 said. I would also get on Auto-Trader and print out some adds that are comparable to yours to help make your case for more money if they low ball you. My son rolled his LX450 and went to the wrecking yard and removed his stereo and all four speakers after we settled with the ins company. I remember being 19 and seemed like everything works against you, good luck.

And it looks like the cost of replacing the bumper and all its various pieces would be similar to the cost of replacing it with armor anyway, so I may try and finagle an unexpected addition! :bigok:
