The CDN dollar is higher than the US dollar right? If that's the case then a 9k winch for less thatn 700 USD is pretty good even if it's used.
I would check to make sure all of the control box / solenoids are good prior to the purchase.
I don't personally have a superwinch but I haven't heard anything bad about their winches. Since I have a Warn I'm just biased

If it was WARN, that's no questions. I heard that one of the guys in Yotatech couldn't fit SuperWinch in ARB bumper. Does it have different mounts? I'm planning of getting ARB bumper sometime next year and as far as I know it doesn't come with a winch, so I'd need something to put in.
Second thing, I couldn't find any review with comparison of WARN 9000 and SuperWinch 9000.

if its used... just check if it works, maybe pull it apart and look at the gears, make sure no teeth are chipped, make sure there is no water in there... other than that... almost everyone in my club has switched to superwinch, and i know of 2 people that have fitted there 9.0Epi in there ARB... small modification required... i would say get the superwinch, its a real nice product...

Back when I used to go 4 wheeling in my truck a lot, a winch in the front bumper would have been useless to me 9 times out of 10 because I usually got stuck going into an obstacle like a pond, not going out of it. Unless it had a really long cable on it, there just wouldn't have been anything to hook on to. At least if you can switch it from front to back you can always hook on to a buddies truck behind you and winch backwards.
I don't have any personal experience with them, but I've always heard Warn makes the best...

well im not sure if you know this, but Warn and ARB have a contract with each other... i never saw what they actually did to the bumper... prob. just shaved down some area's of it, or drilled new holes to mount it.
as far as switching a winch's position when your stuck....
do you really want to lug an 80 lb winch from the front to the back everytime you need to use it? the simple answer is no.
basically... a winch is to get you to where your vehicle cant get itself... and its already gotten you to where youve just been... so why pull backwards? if push comes to shove i have seen people take the cable and pull it underneath there trucks to pull backwards.... very dangerous though... would not recommend.
as far as who makes the best winch's... any winch that will work EVERYtime you need it is the best winch... hopefully you will never feel that horrible sinking feeling as you here your motor die and see your truck not move at all.... esp. when you are alone.
basically, i would prob. get the superwinch, it can be made to fit inside an ARB, and is a nice product, just try and make sure you get the snatch block that came with the winch... its a nice piece of equipment... worth about 65USD.... doubles your payload also...

I have owned a Warn 6000 since the late 80's. So I obviously vote for Warn. The benefits for that winch are the small size and relatively light weight. It is actually possible to put the thing on a receiver hitch "portable" mount and still be able to lift it. The whole winch is small enough put almost anywhere.
I have been told more times than I can count that a 6000 isn't enough winch. But it has lasted through my CJ5, my Tacoma and my Cherokee. And it has never failed to pull me out single line. I have never even owned a snatch block and I have parted exactly one cable in 25 years.
I also agree that 9 times out of 10 you want the winch on the back. So using the receiver hitch works well if you know you can lift the winch and install it. The only down side to the receiver hitch mount is having to buy the wiring. You pretty much have to buy welding cable to cover the voltage drop.
