Looking for 2000 to 2002 Black Sport for my son. I have a few months before he needs it but been shopping around. Have had 2 nice deals get away for not acting fast enough (one sold in a day of craigslist!). Have cash for the right deal so if you are thinking of trading yours in I will give you more than the dealer!

'99 is the prime year for gen 3s, why are you looking for only '00-02? And yes there is a classified section, it's there on the main page where it lists all of the forums.
 
What makes the 99 the best? Mostly just thinking of age and mileage. But he probably will want to lift it and put bigger tires on it when he saves enough $$.

From an offroading perspective, the 99's had slightly taller coil springs and the rear diff lock option, and of course was the 1st year with all the 'facelift' mods. 2000 also still had the locker, but not the taller springs.
 
I recently emailed guy already at his stated email addy as well as thinking he mistyped a Gmail account, and recieved no answer. This is probably some type of scam/too good to be true type craigslist ad that is so common.
 
That wouldn't surprise me, the price is too low unless there's something wrong with the vehicle.

Craigslist is becoming a favorite place for d!ckhead scammers.
 
Broaden your range to 96-02, all the 3rd gens are good there are plenty of low milage early ones, get him a manual too, they are safer.
 
Yep, the good ones are either scams or are already sold. That is why I thought a want ad might work better! No hurry so I can be patient. If someone ordered a new one waiting for it to come in I can wait and that person can get more than the shytty trade in price!

Yeah it is way easier to text/eat and drive in a auto, therefore kids are more likely to do it in an auto rather than a manual. Plus autos are gay.
 
If a manual was safer then insurance companies would be all over that, with either discounts for manuals or penalties for autos. Clearly they don't.

The manual v's auto safety debate is as old as it gets and is one of the all time favorite car enthusiasts discussions. All it ever comes down to is opinion.

I'm sorry but that sounds like a load of crap. If one is going to text, they will text with or without a manual. Eating? Everybody does that! I agree with the feedback with the manual that's about it. LOL, that was the most re****ed thing I have read in a long time.

A manual would be better for a younger driver, you have to pay attention more, no way around that. My Runner is my first auto, and I hate it, I would give anything to have a manual. There's no factual data on it, but you cant drive a manual and not pay attention, you would never be able to anticipate anything, and then choose the right gear, etc.

That being said, manuals are hard to find, so I wouldn't limit your search to that unless you have a lot of time until you have to make a purchase, specialy if its not that important to you.
