Selling OEM tires

Any advice on selling OEM tires besides putting them on Craigslist? Do places like Discount Tire offer reasonable amounts for these tires if you buy new ones from them?

How many miles? Discount tire bought mine back with 5000 miles on it for full price $180, because I bought a new one with warrenty from them (Had a nail in it). Doesn't hurt to check with them what they will give you.
 
I sold mine to Discount Tire. I didn't want to mess with loading / unloading them, posting an add, then dealing with the type of people that buy used crappy tires on CL.
 
I didn't want to deal with selling them my self, so I just went to Discount. Got between $60 and $80 bucks for each. Sorry Ican't remember the exact $ now, its been a while. This was with no more than 500 miles on them. The manager at Discount told me upfront that I could do way better if I put them on Craigslist. Your best bet would be to go around your area and just ask different tire stores. Most around here would not even take the trade ins. Also it was interesting to see that the price I received for each tire varied from Discount to Discount. GL
 
It's not that much of an effort to sell them privately. It's a popular size and if they're in good shape, they'll sell quickly. I put mine on Kijiji, which is a free classifieds site in Canada. They had 2000 miles on them and sold within a week for 300 beans. No hassle at all. Just met the guy at a gas station in town and done.
 
Oem tires...

I just sold mine with 3000 miles. I listed them for $400 and sold them for $350. I could have sold them for $400 if I had waited more than a day. FYI I replaced the oem tires with Michelin LTX AT/2 in 235/80/17 . Yes, it looks pretty radical.
 
Post them here (5th section and general For Sale section).

When I sold mine I posted them here and on TacomaWorld; the latter is where they eventually sold. May want to consider that too.
 
I tried going through Discount and they wanted to give me $50 each per wheel AND tire for <3k on them. No thanks.

I posted them here and on CL for an acceptably decent price ($600, SR5 wheels/tires) and sold them within a month.
 
I just sold my SR5 wheels and tires on CL. Only took 2 days to sell. Less than 400 miles on mine. Sold the 265/70/17 dunlops for $400 and the wheels for $450. Went very smooth.
 
OEM Tires

Took my vehicle to Michelin Tire center the same day I bought it and upgraded to the LTX MS2's and they gave a $400 credit. No haggling and their Michelin price was slightly discounted.

How about some photos of those tires on your 4runner.
 
Pics and a mini-build thread are coming. I need to get the suspension done first... sometime in the next week or two.

For general information:

I sold my set of four OEM tires (Duelers) on Craigslist for $400. Took about five days, had one scammer and about three guys interested, the first of them to bring the cash got the tires. The whole process was easy.
 
Just sold my SR5 OEM wheels and tires on CL for $725. They only had 470 miles. Sold them in 2 days.

I originally posted them on here and Tacoma World but didn't get any good offers.

Probably could of held out for more but I was ready to sell.

I just sold my OEM Bridgestones a couple of days ago for $350 on craigslist. I only had one guy interested so I dropped the price from $400 to sell them. They were on craigslist for about 4 days.
