SEMA 2002 pix of the sickest stereo installation I.C.E.

OK these are kind of old and many have seen this truck I'm sure, but I'm new to this forum and found them in my archives, enjoy them...

There is an LCD monitor in the engine bay playing back footage of the 4Runner on the dragstrip ?!

ok just some quick questions.

1. why in heck does he have lcd screen in the backseat headrests when there is no room in the rear cargo area to even sit/lay to watch them?

2. and what is the point in having a lcd screen in the engine bay? is he gonna play xbox while replacing the air filter?

it's all for show. there are pleanty of others out there who have lots of money to spend.

I guess, he can transfer his LCDs to my 4Runner...since I have 3rd-row seat...how does that sound, proj-r?

Sponsored showcar

Well at least this wild 4runner was actually at SEMA on display and the guy who owned it was friendly and had done all of the work himself. I have a friend who was actually at the track when this thing was running and he said it was insane seeing a 4runner smoke the tires like that ! I don't know why any non-show car would put LCDs in the retarded places I see them every day.

I see giant SUVs with those back headrest LCDs playing while stuck in traffic on the 101 with some fake "G" in there all by himself. Wasteful really. But in a car show context I guess it's OK by me, but I'm a video editor. So I like original screen installations.

That's for the people in the car behind him. He's just being considerate since they all have to sit in traffic, might as well have something to pass the time.

Yes that's very nice of them. This reminds me, I think someone with an old beater 4Runner should send in an application to MTV's Pimp My Ride - one of the best shows on television IMHO :hat:

in that case, put a screen up on the last row saying "Get off my ass" :), if the person is that close to watch.

Hehe...in all seriousness, and although it's pretty counter-intuitive, the point of having one or more TVs in the back is for tailgate parties. ;)

Good idea for the Pimp My Ride show, GG. I would really enjoy seeing a 4Runner get "pimped" by X-to-the-Z Xzibit!
Too bad you have to be in the California area...
