Sensa Trac Strut + reflex Shock

Gents,

I've got a new set of sensa tracs all around. Thinking about firming up the rear with Reflex shocks.

I read a comment in another thread about mixing the monroe struts and shocks. Anyone actually have Sensa Trac struts in front and Reflex shocks in Back?

Yeah, there seems to be some "confusion" even among the guys that should know. I'm certain that my '97 SR5 4x4 has struts in the front. Can't see a reason the LTD would be any different.

I bet if you posted a pic of the front tire and wheel well, some of the guys here could tell you for sure if you have a strut assembly, or just shocks in the front.

Very Good idea, Hendy... I plan on changing the rotors this weekend. During the process, I'll snap some pix. Everyone MUST be right though, I don't think so many different auto part stores could be wrong.

How difficult is a strut replacement? Pep Boys recommended Monroe SensaTraks..are the Billsteins really worth the extra money???? Which Billsteins comes the most highly recommended from everyone here? Light offroading, nothing extreme... still, I do whant some offroad capability.

Thanks everyone...!

I replaced the "struts" on my '99 LTD, pretty simple, but you'll need a strut compresser to compress the spring after the assembly is removed. I borrowed one from Auto Zone, just leave a deposit and you get it back when you return the tool. i put Monroe Reflex on, they seem OK, better ride than 120k-old originals.
