Set unlock when in park

Ok guys, I know this info is in the owners manual but my 4runner didn't come with one... So, I have a kid and when I park the runner and go to open the back door it's still locked and I am constantly swearing at the stupid thing and have to fumble with the remote to unlock it. I was reading the secrets thread and people were saying that there was a setting to change how it behaves to unlock the vehicle. If I could have ALL the doors unlock when I put the vehicle in park that would be heavenly! I have an 03 SR5. If someone could post the procedure of button presses etc I will love you long time ;)

Thanks in advance,
Seth

What you need to do is program the lock function (function A) and the unlock function (function B) to link with the shift position. Here's how;

1. close all the doors
2. turn the ignition to the "on" position
3. within 10 seconds after the ignition is turned to the "on" position;

Then to set;

function A - push and hold the front of the power door lock switch for 5 seconds with the gear selector in "p" position.

function B - push and hold the rear of the power door lock switch for 5 seconds with the gear selector in "p"

all the side doors should lock and unlock as soon as you release the switch to indicate function is set. If they don't you need to start again (time you hold switches must be accurate) The function is set or cancelled each time the procedure is completed.
