Several annoying 4Runner problems

I have a 99' 3.4 with a couple of problems. The most annoying is very little acceleation. I purchased the vehicle with 94K on it and have never been psyched with the power. I live at approx 6000'. I have replaced the fuel filter and air fliter and plugs to no avail. When I accelerate hard the transmission will shift down with very little increase in speed. When climbing hills, I am often unable to maintain speed either. It currently has 117K miles. A couple suggestions I have recieved are timing belt needs to be replaced or problems with fuel injectors. I currently run regular unleaded but have done several cycles of fuel injector cleaner with no discernable changes. The other problem, is with the interior brake light indicator. On the first drive of the day and sometimes subsequent drives, the brake light remains on. The emergency brake appears to be completely down with no binding. As I drive, if I push firmly on the brake pedal the light will extinguish, however it will quickly come back on. I would appreciate any suggestions / input. Thanks, tim
