shaking and braking shimmy

I just bought a one owner 96 sr5 2wd with 155k miles its a very nice and prestine condition, I have read alittle on the tundra brakes upgrade and am in the process of gathering parts(still need to figure out fo the split spoke 17 tundra rims will fit not sure). anyway the car seems to have a decent shake in the steering wheel around and above 65-70 and braking it has had the brakes replaces before and the pedal seems to apply the bads late IMO im not sure if it would be make some air in the system or just wear. id really like to get this thing where its solid with no vibrations or irregularity in the feel on driving as its going to be my daily driver.

any advice and suggestions are welcome im planning on doing a lot of little updates on the runner here and there as money allows.

also after doing the brake swap, I wanted to use the split spoke 17s off a 04 tundra with a decent tire, what suspension mods need to be done to clear?

no. that's a tire/wheel issue. likely tire balance.

vibrating while on the brakes is rotors. (common)
vibrating through the wheel while not on the brakes could be:
really bad rotors
tire balance issue
bent wheel
bad tie rods
bad steering rack bushings
bad steering rack guide
poor repair after previous accident damage

Start with the easy stuff. If it needs brakes, do the brakes. If you're planning on running the Tundra wheels and a stock size tire for those wheels, do that and make sure they're balanced.

If the vibration issues still persist, then start looking harder at the suspension components.

driving at normal speeds and normal steering input as well as some hard turning everything seems tight there I think the issue lies in the whels/tires, the brakes are def getting replaced so that issue will be gone, I had another friend of mine at Toyota recommend me do a balance so see if it helps along with checking the front suspension conpenents for wear bushings and tightness of bolts and nuts. should there be anything that should stick out if there Is a problem while under there inspecting?
I see you have owned a few 4r's any insite on wheel/tire info would be great as ive owned a few tacomas ive never had the opportunity to do some mods to my dd
