shaky hard acceleration

2000 5speed 4x4. When I accelerater between 2700-3000 rpm I get a whole car front to back shake. The engine runs perfect through this. This only happens when I am giving it quarter to half throttle. If its floored you don't feel this. This only happens in second gear, maybe a little in third when your merging on a highway. Any ideas?

Tires

Might check your tires see if they are balanced or might even have problems. This happen to my wife car.

^this, only at a certain speed then goes away at higher speeds definitely sounds like some sort of tire problem, wear, balance ect...get the tires checked

It doesn't relate to speed. Its quarter to half throttle at 2700-3000 rpm in all gears except first. I only normally feel it in second because I'm normally not at half throttle in any higher gear.

check the u-joints closely.

also, you said the engine is running well, but, how do you know?
what you're describing sounds like a bad miss.

when were the plugs changed last? how do they look now?

DEFINITELY check your plugs, wires, MAF and TB in that order.

If all these components are in working order, THEN inspect driveline/tires/suspension components.

What Nevada said, this sounds like textbook misfiring to me...

I checked the plug wires, the plugs are new. The closest wire boot to the back left is brown with white flakes. The rest are black. Should I replace this wire. I'm thinking a misfire under load.
