Hey guys, I recently took all of the slack out of my Throttle cable/pedal by installing a metal window slide lock (old fashioned hardware) to replace a bunch of zip ties I used previously, then adjusted my Throttle cable nuts. There is 0 slack at the pedal and at the TB, but after having someone press the pedal all the way down, I reached in and was still able to add another 3/8" of turn to the Throttle.
Is there anyway to remove that last bit or is it supposed to be like that? The only thing I could think of is tighten the TB cable an extra quarter inch and see if the IAC can adjust for it, although I doubt it. That's a lot of Throttle to adjust for.
I ask because driving at about 55mph at 1800 RPM in OD, and giving it full WoT, it will down shift to 2700 RPM and that's it. It seems like it should be able to shift down one more gear. I carry a cargo hitch full of materials, cargo area is full of tools, I have 3 ladders on the roof and 34" tires with a lift, and I travel the interstate a lot. There are a lot of hills around here and I'm starting to think I need a turbo or supercharger to get this thing enough power to accelerate up hills instead of barely holding speed at WoT.
I've also taken all slack out of the Trans kick cable with no change
All helps appreciated!
PS - If I activate cruise control to a speed, it WILL kick down I to the next gear and run at 4k-5K RPM to maintain speed.
