I've only ever had 4Runners. Three of them.

Husband had a 2nd Gen 4Runner when we were dating.

Then we got a 2000 Limited 4Runner. Which was an outstanding truck until I totaled it. Looked great, never gave us any trouble, was a lot of fun to drive, and protected me like bubble wrap when I smashed it up. I miss that truck a lot.

Bought the 2006 SR5 to replace it. In my head I know it was a good idea (warranty means far less chance of mechanical costs etc etc), but my heart really wants a 3rd Gen.

If I had a choice? Probably would go with a 97 or 98, full black, leather seats. I prefer the flat faced look of the 3rd Gen before they added the bumper lip.

I had been driving the 4runner since I had my learner's permit.. 4 years of high school, I had one of the nicer cars on the parking lot.. Most of my class mates had civics or jettas.

I plan out getting an Lexus Is when the time is right..

I would love to get another car besides the 4runner.

Growing up I was die-hard chevy, basically inherited that from my dad. Had my share of them but always seemed they need fixing of some sort. 3rd gen Runners had caught my eye for a while and finally had a chance to buy a 1996 SR5 in 2003 when my wife and I had our first little one. Was a better family mobile than the 00 Grand Am I was driving and have never looked back. After all these years even my dad, who thought his Chev has always treated him well has noticed how I just change the oil and put gas in my Runner, while he's in the shop every couple months for this and that. Last week check engine light came on his truck (again) and he's finally done with it, got me looking for a Toyota for him too.

I've had 20+ vehicles in my 15 years of driving, but I'll narrow it down to my Toyota past (which since I've found them has been the only thing I've bought).

96 SR5 Runner-263,000kms-Owned 6 years, 100,000kms are mine best truck but sad I have to let her go.
98 Tacoma-about a year, Toyota bought back for the frame rust.
04 4Runner V8 SE, Bought after Tacoma, new family mobile replacement from the old 96. Only 65000kms on her when I got her, long life to go yet.
96 SR5 Runner 5spd-Impulse buy, nice truck but didn't need two identical trucks, sold.
05 Tacoma Access Cab 4x4-Replacement for the current original 96 for sale. 255,000kms on her already. Need a truck for my home reno's etc. which is the only reason I'm getting rid of the 96.

1971 Corolla bought in 1977, paid $725.00, drove it for six years, gave it to my brother, 4 more years. 200K+....great car !!!

My 4R has been my first Toyota since my first car, which was a 1982 Toyota Celica GT. Overall it wasn't a bad car for my first car. It was gutless and not flashy at all, but it had a pretty decent stereo and a power sunroof! :guitar3:

well my toyota past started in 96 with a 1975 Corrola SR5. it served me well until the spring of 97 when the intake gasket blew and i bought my moms 78 corrola wagon. sold the 75 to a friend of mine who got it running then blew it up. at about the same time i bought a 79 celica ST which needed a transmission which i sold to another friend of mine. i ended up moving and loaned the wagon to my mom who sent it off to the CRUSHER when i couldn't come get it the day she wanted me to. needless to say it didn't get crushed but i no longer have it.

also i have had a 79 3\4ton longbed Hilux that i nedver should have sold. it was blue with white trim and almost bone stock. wheels, tach and a lowering is the ONLY mods done to it. and now i have my 84 4runner. never liked em but now that i have one i wanta better one. one that hasn't been bobbed.
