Shark Fin GPS Replacement

Anybody here know of an aftermarket company that makes those round flat GPS antennas in replacement for the stock shark fin gps antenna on our 4runners?

I am wanting to take mine out for something with a much lower profile yet at the same time want it to cover the surface area of the old one. I don't want to risk the chance of a leak. If you know of anything, please let me know.

The reason for doing so is to accommodate the new roof rack.....pics to come!

Epic thread revival I know, but wanted to confirm something. Is the shark fin actually the gps antenna? Or is the gps antenna under the dash? This is for 2014 sr5 premium. Thanks.

I thought the shark fin was for the satellite radio antenna.

On the 2015, the standard radio antenna is embedded in the rearmost passenger side window. Look closely, you'll see thin wires reminiscent of in-window defrosters.

The GPS antenna is behind the factory nav sitting on top of the center air vents. You will also have to pull out the clock to access it.

If the shark fin is for SirusXM radio and the GPS antennae is under the dash, you may want to just remove the shark fin if you're not running satellite radio.
How do you remove the shark fin? And please don't say you cut it off and throw away the rest of the shark, 'cause shark fin soup is bad for the shark population. :fishing:
I'd like to remove the shark fin and have a square cargo basket built without the weak cut-out for the fin.

You have to pull you stereo/navi out then there is two screws holding in the digital clock.

Cause the guy that bought my headunit from me us asking for antenna with it. So I got this far. But I can't figure out how to get it out. See attached pics.

So, I am looking to relocate my shark fin. I have an XM antenna already, but it looks like there are 4 wires in that shark fin and my xm antenna has 2.

Here is what I think the wires are...Two are for XM, 1 is GPS and the other is am ( I think).

If this is true, then I need to fins a gps and AM antenna, right?

Has anyone removed the sharkfin from a 2020 4runner ORP? I took the cover off mine to put on a RTT, and there was actually an antenna in the body of the fin. (I hadn't seen that before.)
