Yeah this is my first rodeo, and first time using a 220 welder. I was very generous with the feed, and the bead is very thick, much thicker than it looks in the pictures. I wasn't expecting it to be a whole lot different than using my 110 miller, but it acted way different. I'll try running it a bit hotter when I do the front.

No big just try bumping heat up a bit. On all my frame 'overhead' welds look like shit.
Try stitch welding it. Basically turn the heat up hit one spot about the size of a dime. For a few seconds, witha small circle pattern. Then let off the trigger move over less than half an inch then repeat.

Front Axle swap done.
And my suspicion was correct, the rear sits pretty low. Next item in the agenda is making some taller shackles for the rear and maybe adding a leaf.

Went up to bald moutain this weekend near shaver lake in california. Was a good time. Got to test out the new suspension.

I am going to try to insert a video here. Its a timelapse taken with a GoPro isnt amazing but pretty neat, the music is a buddy of mines choosing so dont critisize too bad haha. Need to figure out what setting for timelapse will work best for wheeling.

Well I got a hold of a set of rear TG 5" springs. Made a set of 6.5" shackles and now it's sitting pretty. Need to finally mount my rear shocks, now that the ride height is where I want it.
More to come.

The front is working perfectly. Plenty of clearance, could probably handle a set of 37s. The solid axle and locker up front is night and day different than my old open IFS. Super happy with it.
The rear wheel wells don't fit my 35s in them, need to do some trimming. I initially thought thought that they would fit perfect, but they rub on the front and rear of the wheel well. So some trimming is going to happen. Now that the back is up where it needs to be 37s are a possibility even without trimming. The wife isn't pumped on the idea of getting bigger tires just because I can, so I will have to wheel and deal a set somehow.
Now that I am close to having the suspension figured out I am going to start doing some interior stuff. New dome lights, antitheft kill switches, new stereo head and so on. I have a 10 pack of switches and a few dome lights on order right now so that and the rear shocks will be my next project.
