Shave UCA's

Got a small project taken care of over this weekend. I didn't feel like spending the money on the UCA's so I decided to shave mine like SS does. Pretty easy, and only took a couple hours from start to finish.

The sig is a current work in progress. I'll be a vendor soon with an online store directed towards overlanding. That's the company name, and website is being built in my free time.

Do anybody have interest in something like these? I had set shaved for someone who had to back out, and now they're just sitting at my house with no place to go. I'd be willing to make someone a good deal if they were interested.

I would be interested. PM a price for them. I just Put 285s on and they rub so I ordered wheel spacers. Could I use these in place of the wheels spacers to keep from rubbing?

Can these be made without leaving the ultra thin side? The tires only rub at the ball joint (blue diamond), so why is so much material taken off the side? It leaves one portion very small. I might guess that the small portion (red circle)is close to the same size as the tube versions, but the tube versions are DOM tube and most importantly tubular in shape.

I think this is a great idea, but there might be some risks in this design that simply are not necessary.

What if you did them and left the meat in place along the sides (orange line) where the tires are not even an issue to begin with?

I suspect these could be made just as shaved (for the purpose of clearing the tires)without sacrificing so much material.

These have been sold like this by Sonoran Steel for a number a years now, and they charge $250 for them. I can make them anyway someone might want them. If you only want the front ball joint area removed I can do that. These were made from going off of Sonoran's site, but they can be changed.
