she lives finished the 5 speed conversion today

wow i will never drive an auto again, the 5 speed is way faster, fun to drive, i cant wait to hit the trails with it. i will be posting a step by step how to guide soon. i would recommend this project to anyone who is sick of the 3.slow and wants a 3.MO! :bigok:

If the rest of my truck is still worth keeping when the tranny goes I plan on doing the same.

yeah originally i bought the truck for 1700 and figure when she blows she goes and i'll get a jeep. but after having her down a few trails and seeing how rugged these 4runners are made i was amazed at what a pretty much stock one could do.. and now i'm hooked on 4runners.

so long story short in the past 6 months i put on all new brakes and components, all new suspension and lift kit. new engine and components( with ported heads and oversized valves) , i have off road lights and the led conversion... i've got an easy 5k into my runner now and not to mention priceles memories of crawlin past lifted jeeps like they were goin backwards. so when my tranny went i decided to go as reliable as possible and put in a manual.. i plan on driving this rig till i die lol and i'm guessing it will last even longer than that with a little tlc. gotta love the yota's!

did you straight axle it or just IFS lift?
