Shift actuator and transfer case timing

Super old, but maybe one of you can help me.

I need to activate my center diff lock. I don't care about the buttons or the lights working, I honestly have already unplugged the 4wd ecu. My goal is to manually activate the center diff lock by moving the shifter/shaft, and then putting the covers back on. I don't care if the gears don't work or line up becuase I'll never use them. The transfer case can actually even stay unplugged from electrical.

I'm doing an FJ cruiser swap very soon, but currently want to get my whole front end redone. While i'm there, i'm going to disconnect my front drive shaft and install the tacoma front diff for the swap. I don't need working 4wd for a little. I'd do it all at once, but i badly need front end work as it's eating my tires up and i just don't have the time to swap in the FJ diff and get everything else done.

Just wondering if i manually moved the center diff lock gear into place to lock it, would i still run into issues?

I've done the FJ case swap. Drove with the stock case not having a functionally shifting CDL or 4LO. You don't need to lock the CDL to drive on the street, not do you need to remove the front drive shaft. It's already in 4wd and you can even do some light wheeling with it.

Leave it be and drive until you are ready for the FJ case swap.

Also, regardless of what you have been told by a certain shop, you DO NOT NEED THE TACOMA FRONT AXLE!!!! The FJ case will live fine with the V8 front axle.

testing a used transfer case with attached accuater

Is there any way to test the accuater attached to a used transfer case before installing in car?? Thanks in advance.
