Shift Knob came loose,how to fix?

I tried to shift into reverse earlier today, and the shift knob just rotated instead of moving back. Tried to tighten it back by hand, but It doesn't seem to tighten at all.

I don't have a 4th gen, but could it possibly be stripped? Are there any screws that hold it in place once the knob itself is screwed on?

Does the shaft spin as well, or just the knob?

Can you shift the transmission?

Not that I can tell, it felt like it just came loose suddenly. I'll see if I can screw it on.

The shaft is not turning, it's the knob and the plastic bit under the knob. Yes the transmission shifts, it's just annoying to try and fight the knob that spins when you try to shift quickly.

My 2019 4H/L shift knob is loose and if I tighten it the symbols for 4wd are not right. ill probably add some plumbers tape to get it tight and just right.


Maybe use some Loctite?
