This is my first post so if I do or say something wrong, please take it easy on me.
I have a '91 4-Runner SR5, V6 2 wheel drive. It's been a great ride for a long time but now I am having problems with the shifter. The only way to shift out of park is by using the "shift lock over ride". While pressing the shift lock button on the shifter, I can hear clicking under the dash and also feel it in the steering wheel. Is there a quick fix for a non-mechanic or should it be taken to a shop?
