In a recent thread someone talked about shipping their new Trail. I've lost the thread so not sure who it was to ask directly.

This week I purchased a car from Florida. I planned to fly down and hang out for a bit then drive back. (hopefully hitting the Ocala meet-up 1Feb) It isn't working out like that.

So, I am considering shipping the car to me.

Does anyone have a recommendation of company, caveats, anything else I need to know before I do this.

to Indiana from FL, probably looking in the $700-800 range to ship... it'd be cheaper to fly down one way and drive it back...

I can recommend AmeriFreight. Used them to ship my Tacoma from Seattle to Fort Lauderdale when I moved and it turned out to be a hassle free experience. Price was $1200 which was a pretty fair deal considering I didn't want to spend days on the road. I'm sure the quote will be cheaper from FL to IN.

I recommend Intercity, Intercity Lines, Inc.

I have personally used them several times. They have shipped cars to me form Oregon and California to South Carolina. Never any damage at all.

If you want to be pretty much 100% sure your 4runner arrives in perfection Intercity will not let you down. I know other people that have used them and been 100% satisfied too.

It is cheaper if I fly down, alone. But I got two munchkins to either fly with me or pay someone to keep while I am having a blast driving my new rig!

Depending on the age of those two, carry-on and/or check-in might be an economical solution, should you choose to fly.
