Shipping Wheels and Tires

Does anyone have advice on shipping wheels with tires?

I've seen several threads where people have been quoted about $125 for shipping but I have had no luck with UPS and Fedex.

So far the best prices I've gotten were $270, which kind of defeats the purpose of selling and shipping them to someone.

I've given both UPS and Fedex the dimensions (32" tall by 32" long by 11" wide and about 40lbs per box) and get these super high priced shipping rates for the lowest possible, ground shipping methods.

Anyone have any experience with shipping wheels with tires and can recommend what to do?

Unmount the tires from the rims and ship them via fedex ground. I had boxes from previous rims, I was quoted $70 from Missouri to Cali. As for the tires, you can either tape 2 of them together and put them in a large industrial garbage bag, tie that up, go on fedex.com and make an account, print out a label, and drop it off at your nearest fedex location. Or ship them greyhound, or even call freight services for cheap.

Thanks Adio, but I'm hoping there is an inexpensive way of shipping them mounted already so that the buyer wouldn't have to deal with mounting and balancing again.

I'll give greyhound a call though...
