From looking at it everything on the front end, shocks, ball joints, etc are all original. The truck rides pretty good but the shocks look rough(rust) if I am going to replace them what all else should I replace while I am there?? Also which shocks do you recommend for factory ride height?

Thanks in advance!

I have a 2nd gen, but I understand the 1st and 2nd suspensions are pretty similar. I just installed Bilstein HDs all around and I like them. My shocks before were original and they were starting to look rusty. I'd say look at Bilstein or OME shocks, but just my $0.02.

Dylan -how do you like the bilsteins so far? How's the ride quality? sorry for the off topic question :)

They've been on for a little over a week. Paired with my OME rear coils they're very nice. The front ride quality before wasn't bad, and now with the new ones its better but not too stiff. I've heard people saying they thought the Bils were stiff, but I don't think so. I would recommend them.

If all you are looking for is OEM replacement, I have the Gabriel Ultra from Advanced Auto. It was the first thing I replaced when I bought my 91 over a year ago. I have no ride complaints on or offroad.

If you are looking to do more offroad, then look to OME or Blis.
