shocks- highway bumps- Cd player skips

A couple of months ago I put a set of KYB's on the front of my 98 4wd limited and I'm getting a pretty stiff jolt from somewhat small highway bumps, enough of a jolt so that my cd player skips. Anyone else have a similar problem? Anyone have a good idea as to what shocks would smooth out those highway bumps the best?

Thanks

Did you like your OEM shocks? Or I've heard good things about Monroe Sensa-tracs, too.

The other thing you've got to look at is your CD player. The laser might be out of line or might just need cleaning.

It's the factory cd player. I don't know anything about how to clean the lazer head, any suggestions before I go poking around in there?

The 4 runner handles better now with the KYB's, especially around curves and maneuvering at highway speeds. I'm just wondering if I can get a bit softer ride over highway bumps. The shocks that were on the vehicle before I put on the KYB's were pretty much unidentifiable. I think the previous shocks were Gabriel but I don't know which ones. The 4 runner was previously owned and had about 125K on it when I bought it in Feb. 07.

I know you can buy a cd player cleaning kit at walmart.. its a disc with some brushes on it and some kinda spray cleaner.. works pretty good, reuseable and can be used on any disc player cheap too! like 10 or 15 bucks
