Shocks n Struts for Road Only

2006 4Runner SR5 (87k Miles)

so I'm new to the forum first off. Second, I've been noticing that my OEM suspension is feeling a little worn and I'm getting some wheel-hop during "spirited" take-offs. :frog: I don't take her off-road ever so it's all asphault driving. I like the look of a lowered truck, but with 4wd I've heard it CAN be problematic and/or costly to do it right. I've tried searching the forum, but most everyone wants to lift their trucks. I don't tow anything or carry heavy loads, so she usually doesn't have alot of junk-in-the-trunk and I dont think I would benefit from Heavy Duty Shocks/Struts.

Im looking for your opinions on shocks/struts/springs/Swaybars.

Maybe some new energy suspension bushing can stiffen up your ride.
With my 4th Gen now pretty much retired from offroading, I've thought of replacing my bushings with these below. I also thought Energy Suspension had a kit with all the bushings, but right now, the catalog downloads courpted from their site, so I found this.

They also have sway bars, but I don't know in what way it will change the ride. I think its the same thickness.

Your springs are probably fine. You can just get some new bilstien shocks rated for your truck any auto parts store should carry them Oriely's or advanced auto perhaps. Also as stated above replacing your bushings can help the warn out feeling. sway bars are also in no need of replacing unless you want to stiffen the ride up more than stock.

I found the front and rear Addco Swaybars online for $315 shipped Linky 1 (Rear) Linky 2 (Front) which come with new urethane bushings. So swaybars and front/rear shocks and I should be good to go. And YES aha, I'd like to stiffen up the ride a little more then stock.
