Shoots Build Thread.

few weeks ago in the caves in columbia.

I know it may be late, or a little awkward since i've not really known you except from the 4runnerforums, i really just wanna say CONGRATULATIONS! And i wish you guys the best. Just from you helping me out with my questions, i know your a great guy! And thanks for all the help! By the way, i just posted a huge question thread. You have already answered alot of them, but im just getting some other view points on alot of them. If you see any question you would still like to answer that you haven't, it would still be very appricaited, thanks so much buddy !!!!!!!

so the first gen taco bumper bolts straight on except for that one cut to clear the line? that seems entirely too simple!

ofcourse you have to cut the 3 welds on each end cap of the frame rail. i just took a 3" cut off wheel and cut the welds, there are 3 of them on each plate about 3/4 and inch long, then take a hammer and a few love taps and shes off.

but seriously thats all i had to do. its the same thing when you mount a tacoma ARB bumper to our 4runners because arb does not make a bumper specifically for our trucks

thanks for the help man, ill probably be ordering mine within the next two days, may have a couple more noob questions for you if you dont mind

Don't want to thread jack but I have the same bumper and mine didn't need to be cut for the Ac line. I don't why mine was different but I didn't have to. So maybe you won't even have to do that part.

SPENEDWRDS do you have any pics of your install?

ive looked through your build a few times, doesnt the bumper come with a new absorber frame bar? or did you just bolt it right up to the existing frame rails?

yeah there is thr tube part of the actual bumper. then there is a mounting bracket that attaches to the frame.

the mounting bracket bolts up to the frame and the tube part bolts up to that.
in order to get the mounting bracket to fit our vehicles one needs to cut the end caps off the frame to make it look and fit like the tacomas. (they dont have these frame caps.)

Good deal and he might give you a virtual kick in the nuts for snagging that from his backyard.

Lol. No worries. I'm so wishy washy these days on the SC. Been actually contemplating switching vehicles all together. We'll see. Plus, I think if I decide to get one, I'll buy it new for the piece of mind.

Contacting you now...

What are you thinking of getting? I'd only sell mine for a DC 1st gen Tundra or LC100.

With all the trips I've been taking to the coast recently, it makes sense to have something a little more efficient. Only car I've found that fits that category along with having good cargo space and looks I like is the Acura TSX sports wagon.
