shop to make a custom front bumper?

hi guys i've been really looking at getting a plate front bumper, looking at the prices for the ARB (which is of corse my favorite) are crazy. my question is does anyone know of a shop near philly pa or a person who may be on here that can fab up a bumper just like the ARB. i feel that it could be cheaper if i found somone to make one, rather then purchasing it online and paying for shipping and all that, any help is appreciated. thanks

Speaking from experience, custom will cost more than a mass produced one.
Unless you find a friend that loves fabbing for little cash.

Check CL for a used ARB.

there was a used arb for sale in baltimore CL for like $400 bucks not to long ago... I would have snagged it but I'm broke

I would have snagged it too, were I closer... however, what should one look in buying a used ARB bumper? and doesn't the ARB bumper require some specialty mounting hardware/brackets?

no, you just have to remove the things at the end of your frame. If you're gonna be winching most people would recommend it to get welded on

Fabricating a custom bumper would be very time consuming and costly. If you want a nice plated bumper but relatively inexpensive then check out the bumper from Outdoor Logic. I know it's still pricy, but it's the best price out there. Besides that just monitor CL for a bumper. I've been looking for a couple of months though and i've found nothing in my area....

I am currently in the process of working up something with a local guy. Right now I am looking at about $800 for front and rear bumpers. If one takes in the cost of the other options on the market,+ shipping, under $1000 for both isn't to bad. Couple that with the fact locally built will be built to your specific truck is a nice bonus.

I will be getting mine at ( www.savageoffroad.biz ) He specializes in 3rd gen 4runners and has good prices. Since his products are so specialized, I have heard the fit is perfect.

About 8-9 hours. Lansing, MI

We are essentially talking about taking this, which is one he built....

And making it fit the runner. No hoop, smooth on the top instead of tread. I haven't decided if I want the top open like what is pictured, or flat across the top. But either direction will run between $4 and $500. The rear comes in at $300 with recovery points and receiver.
