Well sure your infinity runs bad on pump gas. It's 1 step down from a race car. Unlike the rolling lunchboxes we all drive. Anyway all I meant to say was thinking you need premium for a gx is wrongheaded. Especially if that is a reason that prevents you from buying one. I have two vvti engines with no appreciable increase in performance on 93.

I imagine you might notice more of a difference if doing something like towing in the mountains or something more demanding. It's flat here, I'd run regular in the GX if it was an '05+ too. I run premium in my E55 though, as I have a different driving style and expectations from it than an SUV.

To be fair. I do notice a difference. In my highway mileage. A couple of years ago I calculated that the in increase in highway mileage in my 4runner was alost a dead wash in the price I paid for premium.

A few years back I tried running premium in my V8 '03 4Runner to see if I could see a mpg difference over regular. I didn't see a mileage difference. YMMV.

Your 03 4Runner doesn't have variable valve timing. like Ian said, the only time you'll probably notice a difference without premium is if you're under a heavy load or if your truck see's high RPM. I didn't mention the recommendation of premium fuel to start a debate, I did it just to simply state one of the differences between years. A car or truck that is designed to run on premium fuel doesn't mean it absolutely needs it, but it was designed and tuned with the assumption it would have a minimum of 91 octane in the tank.

I've read online that there were no blizzard pearls that came in sport/kdss. Whites definitely the color and having compromised on my third gen I don't want to do that again.

Either way, white on dark grey is the best combo, I agree with you on that. The 08+ GX has a different silver than the earlier models that is nice as well.

yea, silver is a near 2nd. This one sold me on white.

The change from Silver Pine to Titanium silver was earlier than '08. My parents' 07 is titanium

I bought a 06 GX470 for my wife 3 years ago. It looked beautiful! It drove nice too! But, after only 50 miles of driving it she has had nothing but problems with it - dashboard lights come on all the time. She is very intolerant about this and brought it to the dealer. They want thousands of dollars to fix anything!!! Our regular mechanic can't figure out the problems.

I fixed the air injection problem with a bypass kit I purchased from slyfox75 on this forum. That cleared the CEL. Now I just have to deal with the low tire pressure light, alternator light, VRC lights, air bag light, car with wavy tire marks light, maintenance light. Phew! No codes.

I never had so many problems with ANY car or truck ever! And, everything you need for this truck is super expensive.

:sorry: Should have purchased the Techstream software, to try and address all of the lights on the dash. Cheaper than taking it to a mechanic or worse, the dealership each and every time something went awry.
