Should I buy it?

I've found a 2002 4Runner with 134,000 miles for $11,000. I'm wondering if that is a pretty good deal. It's in pretty good condition. Not perfect. It needs to have the carpets cleaned and a few things like that but there are no dings or dents and it runs really well. Its also the sport model. It has luggage rack, running boards and a power sun roof. I'm just trying to see what you guys think. Is it worth it?

That sounds like a pretty good deal to me. But Just to clarify did you really mean 13,400miles or 134,000miles. Either way it sounds like a good price if everything checks out. Obviously the lower miles would make it a better deal but don't let the mileage scare you.

If you are getting an 02 Sport with 13,400 miles for 11,000 and it is in good shape then that is a great deal. Of course I am in MA where everything costs more, but around here my 02 sport w/ 75k is worth more than that. If it is really 134,000 miles then it is still a decent deal, just look into maintenance, if it is 134k then it should have had the T belt replaced, twice, but at least once.

Twice? It's recommended for every 90k.

Ya I probably should have that changed. I think I can do it myself. I've done a few on other vehicles. I'm actually in the process of putting new valves in a 92 Pathfinder because the timing belt broke on it. I guess if I can do it on that then I should be able to do it on the 4runner.


Btw, I have a 2004 3.4 Tacoma and a 2001 Lexus IS300... would the timing belt be about the same to change on both of those vehicles?

The Lexus has a straight-6, so the procedure will be different, I believe.

The 3.4L Tacoma should be identical to the 4Runner, since the engines are exactly the same. BTW, is it a 4-door Tacoma? If so, want to trade for a 2002 4Runner? I see you're in Utah.

Ya it is a 4 door but I'd rather not. I just got it in July and I've put a bunch of money into it. Besides, it only has 18k miles on it and it took forever for me to find it.
