Should I buy this rolled '96 and wheel it?

??? I am thinking of getting this and chopping the top, or using my highlift to push the roof back into? shape? Sorta shape anyway. I would not care about getting any dents off road :)

For Sale is a Wrecked 96 4Runner 4WD Limited, it rolled over, Engine and transmission are in perfect shape, the car starts and drives, the body is totalled, Just did the timing belt less than 1000 miles ago, new toyota sparkplug cables and NGK Spark plugs, New belts, has new AC compressor, New Starter, Airbags are good they did not go off, no oil or radiator fluid were spilled engine is intack, also indash 7" radio/dvd/cd, Leather tan seats, all 4 rims are fine not bent has 3 over sized tires as you can see in the photos, this truck also came with the factory rear differencial locker, also has a brand new front and rear 3" OME Suspention installed less than 1000 miles ago,
Asking $1,200.00


What do you guys think?

$1200 for all those spare parts?? It would be like having a pick ur part in your own driveway!

Im thinking, you could buy it and sell the Locker to me for 100$ or to anyone else for 500$ and make your money almost back...

Parts truck is a better idea... I know Steezemcqueen has parts truck he vultured for some cool stuff...

how is that ARB? Im not a huge fan, but if its not too bad, you could prob sell it too...
 
I would buy it for parts, vultures between here yt and some other key places will have everything you need gone. If you decide send me a pm though because I'm interested in a few things
 
Just got off the phone with the guy.
He rolled it on Friday on the interstate.
It is in a towing yard now. He owes $500 for towing and storage, and $500 for an ambulance bill.
He will take $1K for it to cover costs.
Clear title since he only had PIP insurance.
The ARB is tweaked pretty bad, no winch. I can use my winch to pull it back into shape :)
IF I buy it, I will probably just pull the body mostly into shape and wheel the crap out of it.
It has 146K miles on it, and 3 new tires.

He had one used tire in the rear, and that is the one that blew. He almost had it under control. It started to fish tale, and he slammed on the brakes. It slid into the median and when the wheels cought the dirt, it flipped twice.

It was a beautiful truck...

Has anyone ever heard of ARB replacing their bumpers for free if they twist up like this in an accident?

The guy who rolled this truck said he heard of this, but was not sure about it.
 
im not too sure but im doubting that ARB would cover the free replacement of the bumper but if u can get it back into shape ill take it off ur hands.
 
I just talked to the guy...he is sending me the paperwork so I can go get the truck :)

I won't really know if I am going to keep it or part it out. Gotta really see it in person first.

Will post some pics when I get the truck in the next few days.

You gonna part this thing out? Another words try and keep it bare bones ie: no doors, glass, etc etc?

Not a chance. Besides, ARB's are for frontal protection from animal strikes and offroad collisions with trees and rock and stuff. Certainly not for some sort of roll over protection.
In that condition, that bullbar is now junk. There's virtually no way you could get that back into reasonable shape.
 
I think you should chop the entire top off, remove all the doors (obviously), make a home-made roll bar and use it as a trail rig.

X2 for sure home made exo and top less no worries of future body damage. Beat that thing and have a blast doing it.:driving::bravo:

What are the lower trim pieces?

Looking at the pics, looks like the lower 1/3 of the doors were rhino lined.

If they are trim, and I do part it / remove the doors, then sure.

send me a pm so I can keep track. It may be a while before I decide and I am sure to forget.:lol:
