anyone? the truck is a 99. i just wanna see if anyone has any insight on rebuilt engines etc. what should i look for and ask about regarding the engine.

I would be wondering why he had to replace all that stuff in a span of a few years... or why he had to rebuild the engine.

I'm very skeptical or rebuilt engines. Sometimes it's a legit reason but 90 percent of the time it's from poor maintenance.

Would really be concerned with the 4WD never being used, that scares me for sure. Especially with it being the electronic switch.

I guess you could check it out and see how low you can talk him down?

I wouldn't not buy a truck because the engine is rebuilt, but he must be on crack with a price of $7,500 firm with 190k miles, because although the motor is rebuilt, that doesnt add to the value of the truck. That's a $6.5k truck , if you can get it for that than buy it if not than don't. He priced it that high to help cover the cost he just paid to rebuild the motor and fix everything, and that is not how it works.

so, he got it from his dad's friend etc etc. he said that the engine was having compression problems, but the head wasnt blown. i guess there was intermittent problems, so, he spent the dough to get it all fixed. i am going to take the truck to get a purchase inspection....and, im gonna get it for 5500 with the tires.
