This day and age there should be no problem finding a killer set of 16's. So many brands and styles to choose from. I wouldn't upgrade to 17 wheels and tires unless an almost free deal fell into my lap. 3rd gens just look good with 16's I think. Should only take a day or two for them to get some tires in.

17s r nice but you do pay alittle bit more for tires with them i had a choice keep my 16 and put tires on it or take my old 17s off my 1st gen that had plenty of tread only reason i have 17s

I absolutely love my 17"s!! Think I paid $225 for the set with a set of decent tires included. Got probably 20,000 miles out of them before I decided to change to an A/T. Turned around and sold my factory 16" stockers for $125. Love the new look of the 17"! There's plenty of places to find tires for 16" or 17". Don't let that scare you.
P.S. - It's squatting like that because I have the back loaded with gear and a receiver hitch cargo basket with a big tool box, carrying about 150 lbs. worth of tools!

I pretty much always find my tires off of Craigslist. The set of BFGoodrich A/T's that I'm running now in the pic above were newer takeoffs. I paid $225 for all 4 plus $50 to get them mounted and balanced. I just typed in my tire size and this was one of the first things that popped up. Set of LT265/70/17 BF Goodrich A/T 80% Tread
$250 mounted and balanced! You can't beat that! Just make sure there aren't any bubbles or broken belts!

When I was looking to buy tires earlier this year 17s were plentiful on craigslist. Most newer trucks have 17s or larger so you can find a lot of that size barely used.

I finally found a set of 16s for a good deal. Both wheel sizes have advantages.

I think thats really where they where going with it, you can get used tires easier then 16s. I haven't really decided, I don't really care how they look.
