I'm trying to decide if I want to buy an OEM hump spoiler. What do you all think?

Only drive with my window down sometimes. It will be mostly cosmetic, and it'd be nice to have a cleaner rear window while offroading :bigok:

I think they do a great job of keeping the rear window clean. I don't care much about how something makes my truck look. ;):

Clean is always good!

Progress4m, did you install it yourself or get it done? If you did it yourself was it hard, and if you got it done how much did you pay for installation?

Definately get one, but do your research. I have a 2006 Limited with an aftermarket spoiler that I want to replace with an OEM "hump" spoiler. The dealership told me that if I wanted an OEM spoiler that I would also have to replace the gate. Not sure if that's true or not, but that's what they told me. Does anybody know if what the dealer is telling me is true.

He is a picture of my spoiler, it doesn't look that bad.

As you can see by the third brake light in the gate, this is an aftermarket spoiler.

Yeah that looks nice! I don't think thats true, I called the dealership just curious what they would charge for installation and they said 300, and nothing about the lift gate. I'll be doing this myself or going to a body shop.

So the OEM is more attatched to the truck making the lift gate third brake not visable?

I was also looking to get a spoiler for my runner also. I have a 06, and I wanted one with the hump for that OEM look. but after seeing the white one on this thread without the hump, I think that looks good also. So is the only place to get the OEM spoiler from Toyota? Last question has anyone bought a spoiler from TRD Sparks? If so how was the quality and the install for the spoiler? thanks!

here in the midwest, it does a good job keeping the snow off the rear window where the wiper cant reach. get one for sure. i heard it adds 10 hp, too.

"less is more"

personally I wouldnt worry about a dirty rear window, thats what the rear wiper is for :bigok:
If I had a choice, Id get one without the spoiler, but thats me, lol

i hope you are just kidding, right? dry dirt + wiper = sand paper. every tried dry clean your car? lol

The rear sprays window cleaner just like the front does. It works fine.

No doubt the spoiler keeps the window cleaner. Salt in winter=no fun. I have never needed to use my back wiper.
