hey y'all... i've had 4Runners since i got my driver's license in 1988... and i'm not about to leave the family now. in fact, i'm about to get a 2007 Limited V8, but they don't offer X-REAS as an option here in Southern California on the Limited.... it's only available on the Sport. so if i want X-REAS, i have to order the truck from japan, which is about 4 months out. i worked a deal so it will only cost me about 400 bucks more, but i'm wondering.... is X-REAS worth waiting for?

it sure seems like those who have it love the handling on-road.

I would definitely say yes! It makes a huge difference in the twisties. You should also try to find the one you are looking for in a different state. I currently live in Las Vegas but flew to Phoenix to get the vehicle I wanted. I also saved about 3 grand over buying it here in Vegas. A one-way ticket was like 70 dollars last summer when I got mine.

One line of thought would be what are your future plans for this 4Runner? If you plan to keep the suspension stock then the XREAS do give a nice handleing and feeling street ride.

If you plan to modify or lift for off road use, you may not want the XREAS. I personaly ended up removing my XREAS to install a 3" OME lift. Just food for thought.

Here is the contact information from the gentleman who sold me my 05 v8 SE. He isn't an actual lot salesman. He just sells via the internet and is really pretty competitive. He is at Power Toyota of Tempe (like 10 miles from Phoenix). Just send him an email of what you are looking for and the best deal you have received for the vehicle and I bet, well if he has the vehicle, he will beat it.

It is worth the wait. XREAS makes a huge difference in cornering and overall performance. The only thing is I think the XREAS gives you a rougher ride.

I don't have X-REAS, but I don't have any complaints, either. My truck has never done anything where I've said, "boy, I wish I had X-REAS." I haven't driven one with X-REAS, so maybe I don't know what I'm missing.

I think the best way to make your decision is to take an SE out for a ride and make your own side-by-side judgement.
