Should i remove the front bug guard?

I dont know if i should remove the front bug guard. (the plastic thing on the front if the hood). Sometimes 4runners look naked when you remove stuff like this, so what looks better?

I like the factory ones, but I would probably take the one you have on there now off.

It's tough to evaluate in that photo.

IMHO, post-99s with the fat lip bumper tend to look best with bug guards, and earlier 3rd Gens look best without.

ive driven the car 100yards so far. unfortunatly its not registered yet, waiting to flip the plates from another car thats being sold.

If you prefer the look without the bug guard and don't mind cleaning your windshield more often (because you'll need to), take remove it.

Otherwise, I would recommending keeping it there for your windshield's sake. I've done a lot of driving in my 2000 4runner, which I bought without a bug guard, this summer and my windshield looks disgusting. No big deal, just clean it off at the next gas station.

It can only do so much for the windshield but it does keep the leading edge of the hood protected which is a must in most states that see snow and in Colorado they sand the roads.

Mine AVS took one for the team and protected my hood from a major ding.

And now I have another.

It looks good w/o a bug guard but I like the AVS one since it looks good IMO and doesn't sit on the hood and is easy to clean behind.

Wait 'til main bug season is over and then test it without to see if you like it. You can always put it back on, right?

Since you have to clean the bugs off the license plate, bumper and windshield, cleaning the leading edge of the hood isn't much worse except it is nice to keep the paint from wearing there (due to the scrubbing).

I love life with my rain guards since that's exactly what i use them for is when it's rainy I can keep the windows cracked;they don't do much to reduce wind noise at highway speeds but they are still worth the cost.
