Should I Trade my 97 T4R for this?

This truck is at a local dealer. I really like the 3rd gen T4R's and was thinking maybe I would trade mine in for this one. It's a 1 owner vehicle & has a clean Carfax. It's been on the lot for awhile, so it's not going anywhere fast. What should I offer with my trade? Thanks for the advice.

Definitely, I would. A 2002 with only 46,010 miles... can't beat that.

Im thinking if I get like 5 grand for my truck and they go down to like 16-17 grand for the truck I would end up paying 10-11 grand for it.
The other issue I have is that I have never bought a used car and I only have 120,000 miles on my 97 which is nothing for these trucks and it's in great shape, except for the rear bumper starting to rust. I am the original owner,so I know what I have?
At this point I won't buy another 4Runner till they make the current one bigger. So what should I do?

$18,995 for an SR5??? I know it's got 40k miles, but that is still very expensive. I would not do it. Even for $16-17, it is still very high priced. More and more 4th Gen's are coming into the market, which drives the 3rd Gen's prices down. Gas prices aren't helping either.

If you are willing to pay that much, might as well get a 4th Gen. If not, try to get a Sport Edition or Limited. There are some for sale in my area for $13-14k w/ 60k miles.

BTW, they will try to rape you on the trade-in. Try to sell it yourself first. If you're the original owner with service records, you will sell it pretty quick. This way, you will have the leverage when negotiating.
