I have a 89 ext cab, about 10000 on new V6, 4" lift, front and rear lockrite diff lockers. I busted up the front end a bit, guessing about 300 to fix but 4x4 not working now. I have a 82 donor truck so I can swap the axle. I'm not real happy with the lockrites just cause I want a manual so I can take it out.
I have the oppertunity to trade straight across for a 85 reg cab long bed 3" lift winch 20000 on new 22lr motor. Claims it gets 22 mpg, mine was getting 10-12.
I dont have the money to do the sas on my 89 or to fix it the way it is. If you were me would you take the trade and start over and get the elockers later? Just trying to think through all the pros and cons. I tend to rush through a decision and end up with regrets. All opinions are welcome.
