should my throttle body butterfly open up more?

Bought some MAF cleaner and was working in cleaning throttle body as well, noticed when i manually opened butterfly with the cable, it only opens up 1/4 way:shrug: Now im used to carbs and i know for sure they open up halfway but not sure on this rig. I can stick my finger in there and it opens up 1/2 with my finger in there. I didnt tighten any cables or anything until i heard from someone else. It seems to run fine and kicks down when i need to pass . Thanks for any replies:cheers:

I do recall reading that is normal. 45 degrees is all you get with the throttle linkage. I assume that some other system opens it further if needed.

The 2001 and 2002 models have a drive by wire system (incorporated into the whack VSC system and all that good stuff) that electronically opens the butterfly in addition to the cable that manually opens it a certain distance

There was a write up on this as well. I did it on my 4Runner and it definitely improve throttle response.
