Haven't seen a thread here dedicated to the battle wounds that happen as we use our cars for what they are intended for. Feel free to also add pictures of "happy accidents" as Bob Ross likes to put it. Maybe I'm just creating this thread to make myself better so I know I'm not the only lol

If you decided to fix your imperfection please show before and after pics and perhaps the cost to fix it.

Heres my first wound from a trip around I took this weekend to Vail. Minor scuff. I'm leaving it and putting my money towards other mods.

Not an off road battle scar but might still count lol. this very lovely lady decided that my two week old 4Runner needed to be used as a door stop while she exited her vehicle.
I got her insurance to pay out and buffed out the scratches with the help of Dr. Colorchip touch up paint. The crease is still there but I’m probably the only one that notices.

Do multiple rock chips on the front bumper, hood, and windshield from freeway driving count on a 4 month old 4Runner?

Oh hell, I think I might get less damage going off roading than driving on the freeway.

Eh. Various dents, broken skid plate bolts and weld nuts, chunk out of skid, rear bumper popping off, sliders, pieces of wheels chipped, dent in fender from banging against a tree. Too many to photograph. This is the only thing I could find on the laptop from Big Bear:

Definitely my biggest disappointment coming from a 3rd gen is the wimpy sheet metal and the fragile paint.

No photo of the actual damage, but destroyed a rear wheel speed sensor on a rock which triggered 3 warning lights to come on as well as a soothing beep while driving in 4L.

Steel skids a bit waffled:



A cracked tail light from a tree and a bent lower link sums it up. My broken diff healed nicely, no existing scars.

My worst is this one from rocking it into a tree when climbing a rock.

My rims are pretty rock rashed as well, my sliders have scuffs on the undersides, all my skidplates are dented, and I crushed my tailpipe so badly that it whistled.

So far the only thing I have "fixed" is the tailpipe. Skids have been hammered back in place, scuffs on sliders touched up, some of the pinstriping buffed out as well. The paint damage really bugs me, so I'll get that fixed one of these days soon, but I could not care less that my skids and sliders are beat up, that's what they are for.

No no, don't waste a good coffee, use paint balls. Put the paint balls in a cigar tube and fling them out your window. - does wonders! Did that once to an 18 wheeler and all I saw in the rearview mirror was a cloud in the smoke when he locked up the brakes!
