Show me your leather/softex

Ok, you guys are slowly persuading me to consider the katzkins!!

Clark and I have the same same setup expect for the perforation on mid and lower seat on mine. You can two tone the colors of the sections and stitching if you like but they add on to the price.

They do come with a factory 36k warranty and depending on your dealer another one from them. For me, i have 15k with installer then 32k factory. The thickness of the leather is a lot better than how the SR5P's feel.

Living in the south, I've never liked leather. Black leather seats made me pass on several 4Runners. That said, I LOVE these seats...

I always opt for aftermarket leather and in my opinion the katzkins are way better than standard factory leather unless you are buying an ultra luxury car (Bentley, Ferrari, Aston Martin etc.). I can usually get Katskins installed for 1,100 out of the door (front, rear and console).

Yes, please share how/where you can get katzkins at that price. I thought they were somewhere around $2000 installed....

I have put them in 4 vehicles now and never paid any where near 2k. PM me if y'all are interested she may not give them to y'all for 1,100 (friend deal) but I can't see it being much more than that.

Anyone know where I can get the OEM part number for the passenger leather cover on a 2014 Limited? I spilled an energy drink on the seat and it has left a permanent stain. so it looks like I will have to replace it.

My question is: Just how much of the seats on the Limited are REAL leather? Just the perforated part? or all of the "seating" area ?

Just to throw in another opinion and question that might help the OP... I have the softex, and find them to look good and be comfortable. However, when it's warm out they do make my back sweat. Even with AC on, the back of my shirt gets damp.

Now the question... the Katzkins, do they breathe better with the perforations in the seat/back? One thing I wish the TP's came with was the heat AND cool option on the seats.

Resurrecting the thread here...for those of you who have kazkins do you mind saying how much you paid? I am getting some quotes right now and I think it could be a little lower. Also, someone mentioned in their thread that it doesn't matter what options you get on the seats? I was told other things add $100 to the cost. Right now I am hearing around $1900 installed with heated seats added too.

Can anyone speak to the durability of the softex seats. I'm about to place my order for a 2016 and am a bit worried about my 55lbs bulldog on the them. Do they hold up well? Has anyone torn them on accident?

The softex in my opinion do hold up as well as any other leather or vinyl/fo-leather. The one thing they are awesome for is that they are super easy to clean. I have been able to clean everything off that my two kids and dog have thrown at them with just a damp rag. In saying that I have actually put a small puncture in one of the seatbacks when folding it down onto a metal piece from a car seat base. Ended up replacing it as I didn't want to look at it with only a 6 month old vehicle at the time. In saying that I do love the seats and think they perform the're duty well, what happened would have occured with any type of non-cloth and was completely due to my negligence.

My dog always rides in the trunk, but if you're going to have them travel in the back seat I would suggest a Kurgo dog cover or hammock as a just in case.

I think I paid around $1300 for my Katzkin leather but it was done thru the dealer and I'm really happy with it so far. I had leather installed in my Tacoma previously thru an upholstery shop and paid $1450.

I had leather on my 2010 SR5 and Softex on my 2016 TEP. The leather had several different grades within the seat based on wear areas. I never had any issue with it, but it wasn't as aesthetically pleasing as the more consistent Softex on the TEP.

One option is to buy seats out of a wrecked vehicle (assuming the airbags in the seats didn't inflate).

I have had softex for 18k miles now and it has been perfect. Was very skeptical when I ordered but would definitely do it again.

Katzkin Leather Interior in 2015 Trail (Base)
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?t=213316

This is mine. I post it because you mentioned in your original post liking the two tone black/grey. I love it. It matches the OEM trail softex bits (console, door panels) perfectly. I went with the black wrap, 'smoke' inserts, and red contrast stitching.
I also put in seat heaters at the same time.
(p.s. - pics were taking immediately after install. The wrinkles have smoothed out after some warm days and 'living' in it for a month or so.)
