hey everyone.
just wanted to introduce myself and my 06 SR5
got it about a month and a half ago and already got the bug haha.
been doing some research on here over the last month and got some good advice to make my decision on parts.
so far ive installed the
spidertrax spacers (on the rear because with them in the front the tire rubs hard on the frame making it completely undrivable)
cornfed 3/2 leveling kit
FJ cruiser 17x7.5" 6 spokes with some
295/70/17 nitto terra grabbers

here are some pictures from today after the install was complete.
took care of the trimming after following trik444's thread with his coopers.
alignment happens tomorrow but as of right now driven 20 miles or so and the fronts still have the molding hairs on the tread. need to make sure i tell the shop to make sure of the upper control arm clearance. have close to an inch right now but i have a feeling when they zero out the camber there might be too little room for comfort without spacers.

i was in the market for a tow vehicle to take my racecar back and forth from the track and i always loved toyotas. when i found out they came with V8's i was set to buy one

Nice cars/ posts! Welcome to the club! Was watching some vids of you on the track, was it just me or to the tires seem too deflated? I have no idea dont follow racing, seems you got a solid 12 sec car though.

ya tires were set at 7.5 psi to get traction. with the RPM limiter sorted out now and quicker shifting its a low 12 sec car as it sits.
definitely striving for an 11.90 vw pro class at some point. just need to drop some more weight and ill be there.

Looks awesome man! What kind of roof rails are you running? I dont really understand how the tires rub on the frame more with the spacers on, can you expand on that please?

Is it rubbing the body mount? If that's the case then you simply have to do the body mount chop mod. Search over on fjcruiserforums.com to get an idea of what you may need to do.

it actually makes contact with the frame right behind the front of the running board if that makes sence. right inline where the mudflap attaches.

the reason why it rubs more with the spacers is because when you push the tire out it increases the radias of the turning distance. therefore when you are at full tilt you lose 1 1/4" clearance in the back and the front. spacers bring the tire farther from the center point of the axis

the snowboard rack is a yakima. i believe its the new design they have now. i picked it up at the end of december.

ill definitely have to look at the mount chop mod and see how involved it gets. all i know is that with the spacers its rubbing to the base of the tread blocks if that makes sence.

i might just look into some 10mm spacers or something to get the tire a little farther away from the UCA. its really not too bad though.

anyone know where i can get some silverstar ultras for the low beams i think they are H11 55w right?

also looking for some bright yellow bulbs for the fogs. i saw a post somewhere about where you can get them but can't for the life of me remember where it was.

We had a thread going on here about the use of H9 bulbs in place of H11's. It's a minor trim mod to the base of the bulb itself, but improves the lumen output from like 1100-1300 to 2100. Something definitely worth checking out. Hoen has a bulb line called the Endurance yellow that has a high reputating of being a quality part. I would look into those.

Hey if you haven't gotten replacement bulbs yet check out this thread here about bulbs that I started. H11 Silverstars

To sum it up for ya, I ended up using H9 bulbs (2K lumes vs H11 @ 1,350 lumes) slightly modified with a dremel to get the tabs to fit into the H11 projectors. Then I'm going to be looking into the HIR bulbs as was suggested to me.
