Shrockworks front bumper questions.

Hey all, I will be upgrading to a Shrockworks bumper next month or so, with my current setup of front OME 885's and Bilsteins shocks.

I will also have a winch thrown in there for about 230lbs total in the front. Should I setup the perch at the max settings to not have a rake or will it put too much a strain and have big issues with the shocks/coils ?

Your help would be nice since when I go to the garage I will have them do it right and save me trips to fix/issues that may come if I don't do it right the first time.

I'm running the 885's with my SSO bumper and a 65 pound winch (~130 total). I have my fronts set at 0 and just go with the 2" from the springs. Mine rides as soft as it did on factory springs before the additions. I'm happy with the result, but I think you might want to go up one weight on the springs.

If so besides doing research, I plan on going with OME what is the number again 895 or 896 ?

Or I can go with Dobinsons, I will contact him and ask how much with shipping I have a Kinek account so I might order them to match the timing date for the bumper !

I thought so to upgrade springs, the OME's I have in the back are doing a great job but I might go Dobinsons all 4 since I secretly plan on doing the rear bumper in the future hehe.

I'm not so sure the Bilsteins do well with that much spring. Really have no idea, seems like the wrong shock for the application.. but your call.

I do know 700lb springs plus ICON 2.5 work really well. A pure OME setup also does OK. The actual spring MFG does not matter. Springs tend to all be the same.

I run Icons in the front with 650lb coils, but I don't have a winch. When I get a winch, I will definitely go with 700lb springs. So, as mentioned above, get heavier front OME's with your bumper/winch setup and run the shocks at 0. As for the rear, I have been very happy with my OME 898's. They handle my CBI rear with swingout, hi lift, and spare tire with ease.

Looks like 887 for the front at 230 lbs. Or Dobson's. I'm thinking about a pair of Dobsons to get my rear 2" back after all the gear I've added. My 5100's seem to be holding up fine after 800 pounds of gear and 70k miles of use. But it does ride like a Cadillac. It just still feels comfortably planted to the road under all conditions.

I believe those refer to OME rear shock numbers

Here's everything I used. Wheeler's was awesome to deal with. They were very patient with my questions and give me great advice on what to get.

This is what I'm using with the Shrockworks front bumper (BTW - I wouldn't do a front bumper again for what it's worth)

If you can swing synthetic rope instead of steel cable, you might find you're ok with the 650lb springs.

I'm running the 650s with a 9.5k winch and synthetic line, and it feels fine to me. I was concerned about this as well, but find that in reality, it hasn't posed any issue whatsoever.

fwiw, i weighed the stock bumper parts out to, iirc, about 35lbs total...SW bumper 130+winch 55= 185...total additional weight about 150lbs. the synthetic line weighs maybe 2lbs total, negligible.
