Does it slip over existing bumper without having to cut, drill, etc...?

Shrockworks Rear Bumper

Does it slip right over the existing bumper without having to cut/drill?

We have been hitting the design front pretty hard lately. With most all of our manufacturing processes in house now, our prototype and design stage is alot faster and easier.

We are stocking up on new goodies and they are trickeling their way onto the web site, but one of the next things to go up is our 3rd Gen 4Runner Rear.

Here is a sneek peek. It will be availible in a rear bumper only or tire carrier. The tire carrier will provide mounts for 1 jerry can and a hi-lift, and the jerry can mount will be optional.

I hope to get the truck in here next week to get some better pictures. Pricing is soon to come, but not done just yet.

Looks great, will need to see the pricing to determine how it compares to the CBI, because they look pretty similar, price is pretty much the determining factor

ooooooooooooohhh......

My questions..

Hows the gap between the bumper and body?

Option for body lifted applicants? Additional costs?

Any other options available, like quarter panel protection?

Would also love to see more pics to view the angle of tire carrier, and distance from the body.

If there is a huge demand for bodylift, we can make it an option.

The gap between the body/bumper is quite a bit more than stock, due to the fact that the bumper is now acctually mounted to the frame. Also, the rear section of the frame on these strucks has ALOT of flex, so we made sure to leave it room to move. Its set at about a half inch, which is the way we set our front bumpers during install.

The options at this point consist of rear bumper only or tire carrier, and the tire carrier will have an optional jerry can mount. I expect the hi-lift mount to be a standard option. Also, we will have a standard and limited wing option to match the limited flares.

Can you still carry the spare tire underneth in the stock position with the new bumper??

The rear bumper will accomodate up to a 32" tire, possibly a 33" in the stock location.

they will have it done, in a few years, BUT, you have to pay for it full, today.. :roadkill:

We are still running about 3-4 months on most of our bumpers, and sliders a little less. We only require half down at time of order, but if you still arent comfortable with that just give us a call and I'm sure we could work something out.

Wrapping up pricing and editing the web site to make room for a new product...

Feedback wanted!

May just be me, but the hitch receiver seems to be angled upwards?

Also, what is the rating for the hitch? If I get a rear bumper, I still want to be able to pull a trailer...

It does look that way doesnt it, but its just the angle of the picture. This reciever set up is considered a class 3 reciever.

Class 3 receivers can handle up to 8,000 pound trailers and 800 pounds of tongue weight with a weight carrying ball mount, or up to 12,000 pounds and 1,200 pounds of tongue weight with a weight distributing hitch. This generally exceeds the towing capacities of most non-commercial vehicles, so a Class 3 hitch is rarely the limiting factor when towing.

I loaded up a 32' travel trailer (right at 6k) with a weight distributing hitch on this exact bumper and didnt think twice about it....well the bumper that is. I was more worried about what the drivetrain and brakes thought about it!

The rear bumper looks good Justin. Especially on old black.

Tearron, its been a GREAT truck with about 270k on the clock now. Unfortunatlly, I am starting to seriously consider selling it. Fuel milage is becoming an issue with my fiance's heavy foot, and we are a good ways outside of town now. Dont want to get rid of it, but 13-14 mpg is hurting. Started considering a diesel swap, but thats a story for another thread....
