Just ordered a new front bumper from shrockworks. Jim, the owner, was a pleasure to work with. My order is the bumper with full tube center hoop and headlight guards, 2 clevis shackles powder coated. it will arrive 3-4 months.

Congrats on finally pulling the trigger!

Get your metal drilling bits sharpened up. And a high quality step bit. Drilling all those 1/2" holes is not the most fun thing ever... You already know that if you bolted your sliders on though!

thanks for the headsup. I have a company about 5 mins from my house called Hellbent Performance do all of my work.

ouch... is it heavier than the TJM?? cuz I shipped a TJM to LINY in NY for what 60$??

I guess yours will have the hoop which makes it bigger, and its prob heavier than the TJM, but seems like it should be under a hundred...

Congrats!! cant wait to see it!

Shrockworks makes awesome stuff. They are here in Houston, and I have gotten stuff from them before but be aware. It takes for freaking ever.. Toughest out there that I know of..

I never realized that they are here in Houston. Learn something new everyday I guess...

I'm shocked its only 149. I saw a picture of one and they ship the bumper in a wooden crate. I heard at one point a 6 month wait so I'm glad its at 3-4 months. I will be ordering one by the end of the year.

Congrats on the purchase...You'll love the bumper.

The 3-4 month wait is questionable,I ordered my SW bumper for my 4th gen August 28th of 2009 and received it December 8th 2009.

Some guys i know waited 5-6 months for there's..Some even longer a few years back.

Realistically it depends if SW is producing a BATCH= more than 3 or so bumpers being built on a production run.
Once you place your order,it doesn't mean SW is going to start building your bumper right away...

The $149 delivery charge is for commercial addresses...
It's $189 to residential addresses :crybaby:
And yes the bumper is bolted to a pallet which adds to the shipping weight unfortunately.

It will come shipped like this with plenty of plastic wrap so the trucking company doesn't damage it.

IMHO...I would do it all over again and endure the long wait for a high quality bumper like SW.

Wow, that packaging is awesome! I just rec'd the sliders from Shrockworks on Friday and they came in a cardboard box with a seriously heavy duty foam packaging system. 3-4 months is nothing when you consider I've owned my vehicle almost 11 yrs. Jim, the owner of SW, and I talked about a rear bumper and it sounds like they will be making one by yr end. I ensured him I want to be the guinea pig for that bumper. AS far as the $149 freight goes, somethings are worth paying for to get the best of the best.

x2. The packaging is great. Pretty awesome news on the rear bumper - any spy shots or ideas of what it's going to look like? Rear tire carrier? Gas can holder? Smoke screen and oil slick ejectors?

Rear Bumper?!?!

Damn, I have been waiting for Shrockworks to do a rear bumper for 3rd Gen...I have the same front bumper as you guys and the sliders...it needs the complete package with a rear bumper!!

I am pumped now, anybody have any info on what it will look like??

Packaging was certainly heavy duty - they don't mess around.

I totaled my 06' Tacoma which had a Shrockworks bumper on the front, certainly took the beating well...

Check out this entire thread on TTORA if you are interested in their product (although it's Tacoma specific).

Here are a couple teaser pictures from my former beast:

I have also placed an order for a 3rd Gen bumper - bare steel but with full hoop. Sliders I switched to All-Pro for the kickout. With the trees around here I feel they will come in handy.

Shrockworks FTW! Looks *****in' and sure is built right!
